Ministry of Higher Education and University of Benghazi Discuss Strengthening Women’s Academic Leadership

Benghazi – Najah Salem, Director of the Women’s Support and Empowerment Office at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, held an expanded meeting Thursday morning at the University of Benghazi during her official visit. The meeting included University President Ezzedine Al-Darsi and Mirvat Douma, Director of the Women’s Support and Empowerment Office at the university.

The main purpose of the meeting was to establish comprehensive mechanisms to support and develop the abilities of female university members in administrative and academic fields. The discussions also focused on encouraging women’s active participation in decision-making positions across the university’s faculties and departments. Both sides discussed activating joint programs and activities between the ministry and the university to enhance the leadership role of women in academia.

At the close of the meeting, Najah Salem expressed her gratitude and appreciation to the university president and the director of the university’s women’s empowerment office for their ongoing and substantial support for women’s empowerment in academic and research environments.
