Tripoli – The National Committee for Addressing the Situation of Displaced Persons residing in the Airport Road apartment complexes in Tripoli held its first meeting Tuesday. The meeting was chaired by the Minister of State for Displaced Persons and Human Rights. It was held in line with a Prime Ministerial decree establishing the committee and launching its work.
Committee members discussed the current conditions of families living in the Airport Road buildings. They reviewed the legal, administrative, housing, and social aspects of the issue. The goal is to find practical, fair, and sustainable solutions that respect the rule of law and uphold the humanitarian needs of the affected families.
The committee also examined initial proposals and ideas to address existing challenges. Members set work priorities for the upcoming period, adopted a timeline to carry out assigned tasks, and scheduled deadlines for preliminary reports from relevant agencies.
The committee affirmed its commitment to strengthening cooperation among all involved institutions. Members pledged to act with national responsibility to ensure a comprehensive and sustainable resolution that protects the rights of the families and contributes to community stability.
