Over 220 migrants intercepted and returned to Libya in a week – IOM

80% increase in the flow of migrants from Libya, IOM

International Organization for Migration (IOM) announced on Monday that 224 migrants were intercepted and returned to Libya from 28 January to 3 February.

So far in 2024, the number of 562 migrants have been intercepted and returned to Libya, according to IOM.

IOM added that 8 migrants went missing and 73 died on the Central Mediterranean Route between 1 January and 3 February, 2024.
