Benghazi – The city of Benghazi on Sunday welcomed several Arab and African parliamentary delegations participating in the second general conference of the Asian-African Parliamentary Council. The conference will address parliamentary and development issues of joint interest to Asian and African countries.
Among the arrivals at Benina International Airport were delegations from the Union Council of the Comoros, the Egyptian House of Representatives led by Sherif Mostafa, chairman of the African Affairs Committee, as well as delegations from the Republic of the Congo and Sierra Leone. Deputy Speaker of the Palestinian National Council, Ali Ahmed Faisal, also arrived to take part in the conference proceedings.
In addition, the airport received delegations from Nigeria’s National Assembly, the House of Representatives of Liberia, Abbas Ghalour of Iran’s Islamic Consultative Assembly, and Soatsara Marsela Diadim, head of the Parliamentary Cooperation Department of Madagascar’s parliament.
These arrivals come as part of preparations for the start of the council’s second general conference in Benghazi, which will witness broad participation from Asian and African parliamentary delegations. The event aims to strengthen parliamentary cooperation and exchange perspectives on shared issues.
