President of the Libyan Presidential Council (PC), Mohamed al-Menfi, received the British Ambassador to Libya, Caroline Hurndall, “to discuss the latest political developments in Libya and issues of common interest,” according to PC Media Office.
“During the meeting, al-Menfi stressed the Council’s keenness for holding elections, and its support for efforts to reach consensual constitutional frameworks to secure a clear path towards elections in response to the Libyan people’s desire for stability,” the Office said in a statement on Sunday.
In turn, Hurndall renewed UK’s continued support for PC, “which seeks to achieve stability through the success of the national reconciliation file, and the holding of elections according to a consensual constitutional basis whose results are acceptable to all parties,” the statement pointed out.
