Ankara—Lt. General Saddam Haftar, Deputy General Commander of the Libyan National Army (LNA), held a constructive meeting today in Ankara with His Excellency Hakan Fidan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye.
The high-level discussions focused on strengthening bilateral security cooperation and coordinating joint efforts to enhance stability in Libya and the wider region.
Lt. General Haftar underscored the LNA’s foundational role in maintaining Libya’s sovereignty and securing its territorial integrity. He emphasized the ongoing commitment of the General Command to combating terrorism and supporting a unified, stable Libyan state.
Both officials reviewed the current political and security developments in the country and affirmed the necessity of continuing direct consultations to ensure mutual interests are served and to pave the way for a lasting, comprehensive solution to the Libyan crisis.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to sustain open channels of communication to follow up on the points discussed and further develop constructive relations between the two sides.
