Saddam Haftar Reviews Eid al-Adha Prisoner Release Procedures in Benghazi

Benghazi — The Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar, met with the Chairman of the National Committee for Monitoring Prison and Prisoner Conditions, Counselor Ibrahim Boushnaf, and members of the committee at his office in the General Command Headquarters in Benghazi.

During the meeting, Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar was briefed on the latest preparations and measures taken by the National Committee regarding the implementation of amnesty decisions. These decisions grant pardons for the remainder of sentences to convicted individuals who meet the legal conditions and regulations, covering more than 250 release cases.

Timed with the blessed Eid al-Adha, these measures represent exceptional legal and humanitarian steps designed to address the repercussions of previous stages and fall within the framework of the national stability project.

The prisons today witnessed the execution of release procedures for the beneficiaries of the amnesty decisions, in accordance with the approved legal regulations.

These efforts come in implementation of the instructions of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, in support of endeavors for amnesty, reunification, and the consolidation of stability and national reconciliation.
