Tripoli – The Libyan Post Telecommunications & Information Technology Company (LPTIC) announced the imminent launch of 5G service. The company clarified that the service will be launched through Al-Madar Al-Jadid. This will make it the first national operator to provide 5G service. This follows the completion of final technical and regulatory preparations for the project’s first phase.
LPTIC indicated that launching the new service is part of its plan. This plan aims to develop the telecommunications infrastructure. It also supports digital transformation. Furthermore, it improves the quality of services provided to citizens. It is worth noting that a key feature of the 5G network is its provision of ultra-high speed. Smart cities require this speed. Large institutions that rely heavily on high-speed internet also need it. It will also contribute to providing fast internet service to citizens. This will enable them to browse and watch high-quality video clips without any interruption. In a related context, Engineer Ali Ben Ghoraybeh, Chairman of LPTIC, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today. He signed it with representatives from KBR, a leading American company.
KBR specializes in engineering consultations, technical solutions, and infrastructure. A number of the company’s department and office managers attended the signing. The MoU signing took place during a meeting between the two parties. They discussed prospects for cooperation, partnership, and joint investment. This supports efforts to develop and improve Libyan infrastructure. It also enhances 5G networks.
The Chairman of LPTIC’s Board of Directors affirmed this MoU is a significant step. It aligns with LPTIC’s direction towards building strategic partnerships with international expert houses. This supports knowledge transfer. It also facilitates the deployment of advanced technical solutions. Furthermore, it enhances the telecommunications sector’s readiness for technological development requirements. It contributes to achieving sustainable added value for the national infrastructure.
