The Libyan government, headed by Fathi Bashagha, announced that it is ready to assign defense team for the Libyan, Abu Agila Al-Marimi, who was handed over to America by the National Unity Government headed by Abdel Hamid Dbeibeh, based on what the US authorities said was his involvement in the 1988 Lockerbie bombing.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will assign an international law firm to defend the Libyan citizen Abu Agila Masoud, and will investigate the manner in which the extradition process took place and its compatibility with local and international laws,” the Bashagha government said in a statement today.
“The government calls upon all Libyan legal parties to contribute to the assigned international law firm and to coordinate with it,” the statement added.
