Benghazi – The Libyan national powerlifting team achieved a remarkable feat after topping the overall standings of the 2025 African Powerlifting Championship, which concluded its competitions yesterday, Friday, in the Tunisian capital. The event was hosted at the El Mouradi Hotel with wide participation from African teams.
The Libyan team’s players managed to establish a strong presence during the championship, returning with an impressive haul of 33 medals: 22 gold, 8 silver, and 3 bronze, solidifying Libya’s dominance in this edition of the competition.
The team participated in the championship with a delegation of 34 male athletes and one female athlete. The national athletes delivered a remarkable performance across various categories, which significantly contributed to strengthening Libya’s position on the medal table.
This victory is an important milestone for the national powerlifting team, which continues to cement its presence in African championships, proving its continuous development and the ability of its training programs to produce impressive results.
