Benghazi – The University of Benghazi is offering its students the opportunity to participate in a virtual international dialogue program. The initiative aims to promote communication with students from universities and educational institutions worldwide and to encourage the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and experiences between different cultures. This effort is part of the university’s strategy to broaden students’ horizons and connect them with international academic and cultural spaces.
Khadija Al-Barassi, a member of the university’s International Cooperation Committee, said the university is working to provide high-quality opportunities for its students that go beyond the traditional academic framework. She noted that the programs allow students to interact with peers from various countries and learn from diverse educational and cultural experiences. According to Al-Barassi, this helps develop students’ skills in dialogue, critical thinking, and communication.
Speaking to Al-Anbaa Al-Libiya, Al-Barassi explained that the dialogue program is conducted online over eight weeks. It includes weekly sessions held in small groups, moderated by specialists in dialogue management. This interactive environment gives students the chance to discuss a range of topics and exchange perspectives and experiences.
She added that this initiative is part of the university’s broader international cooperation efforts, aiming to offer students global experiences that help them build academic relationships with peers outside Libya and benefit from diverse viewpoints and backgrounds.
Al-Barassi noted that participation is available in both Arabic and English. Students who complete the program will receive an international participation certificate. She highlighted that such programs can support students’ future prospects in academic exchanges, scholarships, and international activities.
Al-Barassi stressed that exposing students to different educational and cultural environments enhances their ability to engage in dialogue, express opinions, and develop listening and critical thinking skills. This, she said, prepares them to interact with an increasingly interconnected global community.
She explained that the program is part of an international intercultural communication initiative, run in cooperation with a specialized organization. It targets Benghazi University students who are interested in a dynamic experience with peers from a variety of backgrounds and cultures.
