The Libyan National Security Adviser, Counselor Ibrahim Bushnaf, discussed with the US Special Envoy to Libya, Ambassador Richard Norland, the repercussions of the detention of the Libyan citizen, Abu Agila Al-Marimi.
A statement issued by the media office of Bushnaf said: “On Monday evening, Bushnaf received a phone call from Norland, in order to discuss the repercussions of the detention of the Libyan citizen Abu Agila Masoud in the United States.”
“During the call that took place at the request of the National Security Adviser, the two sides discussed all procedures related to detention conditions,” the statement said.
“The US Special Envoy assured the Libyans and the Libyan National Security Adviser that the United States of America respects Libyan sovereignty during the course of legal procedures,” the statement concluded.
