Sebha – The Committee for the Reorganization of Southern Cities, headed by Major General Jamal Al-Amami, seized a vehicle loaded with a quantity of fuel intended for smuggling, as part of its intensive campaign to protect national resources and combat economic crime.
The committee stated in a statement that the seizure included a Hyundai Sonata vehicle, driven by an individual, containing 350 liters of fuel distributed in 50 jerrycans, each with a capacity of 7 liters, which were ready to be smuggled outside the legitimate distribution network.
The committee affirmed its continued implementation of its field campaigns with full determination, stressing that it will “strike with an iron fist” anyone who dares to tamper with citizens’ livelihoods or the state’s resources.
This operation is part of a series of measures taken by the committee to curb the phenomenon of fuel smuggling, which represents one of the most prominent security and economic challenges facing the Libyan state, especially in the southern regions.
