195 people, including 23 women and two children, were released today by a military force affiliated with the a government, announced the force.
The 444 Brigade said the migrants have been detained and tortured in Bani Walid by human traffickers.
According to the brigade, a the culprits, who are a gang of nine human traffickers, were arrested and handed over to the competent authorities. They had demanded a ransom from the families of the victims, subjected to torture, rape and starvation during their detention.
The freed people are from Egypt, Sudan, Niger, Nigeria, Eritrea and Ethiopia.
