Presidential candidate and Renewal Party leader Suleiman Al-Bayoudi said a letter from Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah to the International Criminal Court serves as a prelude to burning the capital and bringing down the entire system, comparing it to Nero’s burning of Rome, the British burning of Washington, the Russian burning of Moscow, and London’s fire during sectarian tensions.
In a Facebook post titled “The New Nero,” Al-Bayoudi accused Dbeibah of repeating history with the recklessness of a fearful and confused tyrant. He claimed Dbeibah has decided to betray all his allies at once. Al-Bayoudi predicted that by the end of 2027, all militia leaders, especially those involved in kidnapping, torture, oppression, and tyranny, would be listed by the court.
Al-Bayoudi said this move would turn those who once protected Dbeibah into frightened fugitives, hiding from the International Criminal Court for their crimes against humanity.
He added that Dbeibah could ultimately find himself trapped by the consequences of his own actions. Al-Bayoudi argued that Dbeibah tried to target his rivals and partners in corruption using the court, but may instead entangle himself and his militia leaders in international legal proceedings.
Al-Bayoudi also stated that international law would eventually reach Dbeibah, making him wanted by the court. He argued that Dbeibah’s record is full, and the letter would not protect him, adding that only divine justice truly matters and that injustice is darkness.
He further described the Libyan government as confused and fearful, giving the court its opportunity to act.
Al-Bayoudi warned that the court had obtained an important document from a recognized government, opening the door to investigations in Libya. He said this development brings hope for every wronged and oppressed person, and that there is light and salvation at the end of the tunnel.
