Economist: “Momentary confusion” lacks a legal basis and threatens the principle of bank secrecy

Benghazi – Ali Al-Sharif, an economics professor at the University of Benghazi, said that addressing salary imbalances in Libya requires controlling public spending, rationalizing expenses, and improving the governance of oil revenues, while ensuring these revenues are collected and managed transparently.

Al-Sharif told Al-Araby Al-Jadeed newspaper that closing wage gaps in a sustainable manner means increases must be funded through real revenue, rather than unchecked spending. He warned that otherwise, citizens could bear the cost through a weaker dinar and higher prices.
