The Libyan presidential candidate Fathi Bashagha said he discussed with the US special envoy and ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, the latest developments of the political situation in Libya.
Bashagha added they stressed during the meeting the need to coordinate international efforts to support the democratic process in Libya.
The presidential candidate continued, “We stressed the importance of the institutions concerned with the electoral process taking all means to provide an appropriate environment.”
He pointed out that they discussed setting a date for holding presidential and parliamentary elections; so that the Libyans can choose the leaders of the next stage.
