Benghazi – Benghazi Municipal Council member Ahmed Boumakhatra met with council members Ibrahim Al-Farsi and Fathia Al-Manfour, and Chairman of the Shura Council Ibrahim Al-Shalmani, to discuss ways to activate local revenue and strengthen income sources. The meeting included several experts in economics and development.
Academics and specialists attending included Zahi Al-Mugharbi, Idris Al-Sharif, Khaled Al-Nakhat, Marja Ghith, and Abdul Fattah Al-Areebi. Participating officials included Central Bank of Libya board member Wissam Al-Kilani, House of Representatives members Alaa Al-Qamati and Areej Bakkar, and Community Partnership Council representative Riyad Boumtari.
Participants reviewed several proposals to diversify and increase revenue sources. The goal is to support the municipality’s resources, help tackle daily challenges, and improve services for citizens. Attendees stressed the importance of drawing on economic and development expertise and strengthening cooperation among institutions to serve the public interest and advance sustainable development in Benghazi.
