Butnan Clubs call for unified presidential elections and the unification of state institutions

Thursday, November 27, 2025 National 1 Min Read
Butnan Clubs call for unified presidential elections and the unification of state institutions.

Tobruk – The sports clubs affiliated with the Tobruk Sports Office have expressed their concern over what the country’s situation has become as a result of divisions and the multiplicity of authorities, stressing that the current division has cast a shadow over the sports sector and threatened its social role and the mission of youth institutions, which are based on unity and noble values.

In a statement, the clubs of the Butnan region, with all their sports institutions and segments—including general assemblies, boards of directors, and athletes—announced a clear position calling on the United Nations Mission, the international community, and concerned parties to support the will of the people and respect their demands, chief among them the unification of state institutions through the selection of a single president for the entire country.

The statement called on all officials and decision-makers to stand with the Libyans’ demands to hold unified presidential elections, considering the ballot box to be the decisive factor in choosing who they see as capable of unifying the country, affirming that the people are the original right-holder and the source of all authorities.
