Colonel Abdel Salam Said, head of the Central Agricultural Police branch, met with Saad Al-Siwi, director of the Animal Health Office at the Agriculture and Livestock sector in Sirte, to discuss preventive measures to limit animal diseases in the city.
The meeting addressed several issues related to animal health, as part of joint cooperation between relevant agencies. Officials expressed concern over the growing spread of certain diseases due to the use of banned medications in several municipalities.
Colonel Said stated that the talks focused on diseases affecting livestock, including foot-and-mouth disease, and strategies to manage and contain them. He explained that preventive measures will include inspection campaigns at livestock markets, field visits to breeders, and prohibiting the entry of livestock into the municipality unless all official health procedures are completed. These steps aim to protect animal health in the region.
