Sirte – A 13-year-old boy drowned Friday at Al-Zaafaran beach in Sirte. The incident occurred due to strong sea currents in the area.
The Talmeetha Marine Rescue Unit identified the boy as Mohamed Ramadan Al-Housain. His body was recovered and transported to Ibn Sina Hospital in Sirte for standard procedures.
This incident comes amid a rise in accidents along local beaches. Last Saturday, the Eastern Region Marine Rescue Department reported six deaths and seven rescues over two days.
