Al-Bayda – The Education Directorate in Al-Bayda announced on Wednesday that classes will resume at all public and private schools in the city starting next Sunday. The decision follows the end of a teachers’ strike in the municipality.
According to a statement, the resumption comes after the General Teachers’ Union reached financial and administrative agreements with the relevant authorities. These include standardizing salary scales, providing health insurance, and disbursing outstanding payments owed to Ministry of Education staff.
The directorate called on all teachers to return to their schools, welcome students, and help restore regular classes. It urged teachers to make up for lost instructional time to support implementation of the educational plan.
The statement highlighted the importance of cooperation between teachers and school administrations to ensure classes proceed smoothly, complete the curriculum, and address issues caused by the strike.
The directorate also affirmed it will continue monitoring the progress of classes in Al-Bayda’s schools and work to create the conditions needed for a stable learning environment in the coming period.
