Sebha – The National Development Authority has announced that the first bridge to be built in southern Libya, located in Sebha, will be named “Hero of the Crossing Bridge.” The announcement coincides with the anniversary of the October 1973 War.
The Authority stated that this step honors a significant moment in Arab military history, in which Libyan armed forces—soldiers and officers—participated. Among them was Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, who took part early in his military career in response to a national call of duty.
According to the Authority, inaugurating this engineering landmark is a development step that connects the heroism of the Bar-Lev Line crossing with a future being built by Libyans in the workshops of development and reconstruction across the south. The bridge aims to embody the same spirit of challenge and achievement.
