Benghazi – A training course on preparing election campaigns for candidates concluded Saturday evening in Benghazi. The program was organized by the Coordinating Authority for Election Monitoring in cooperation with several civil society organizations. It took place at the Martyr Muftah Bouzid Hall at the Libyan News Agency headquarters and attracted several participants interested in electoral affairs.
Dr. Adel Bousn Al-Majbari, head of the Coordinating Authority for Election Monitoring, said the course aimed to enhance the skills of candidates. He noted it was designed to help them develop scientifically sound and professional campaign strategies. The goal, he said, is to improve the quality of electoral practices and deliver campaign messages more efficiently and effectively.
The training covered the fundamentals of election campaign design, including planning from financial and logistical perspectives. Participants also learned to analyze the electoral landscape and choose optimal times and locations for launching campaigns and placing promotional materials to better reach target audiences.
The course also discussed how to assess the strengths and weaknesses of rival candidates and how to use this knowledge to develop more effective campaigns, while maintaining electoral rules and fair competition standards.
International trainer Dr. Khaled Ibrahim Bakkar led the sessions, which included both theoretical frameworks and practical exercises. He emphasized that the authority will continue organizing training and awareness programs with civil society partners to help build candidates’ capabilities and promote electoral awareness.
