The Central Bank of Libya (CBL) has published the government expenditures for 2021, which amounted to $24.5 billion (85.8 billion Libyan dinars), contradicting with the numbers published by the Government of National Unity (GNU), headed by Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh.
CBL’s announcement of expenditures came less than 24 hours after Dbeibeh’s government published its expenditures, which it claimed did not exceed $19 billion.
CBL indicated that it recorded a deficit in expenditures, amounted to $1.6 billion, which was covered by reserves of foreign exchange, while revenues deposited into the Bank’s account amounted to $22.9 billion.
