Tripoli – Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, met today with Hassan Rashad, head of Egypt’s General Intelligence Service, and his accompanying delegation to discuss ways to enhance cooperation and coordination between Libya and Egypt, as well as to support the political process in Libya.
According to the media office of the Prime Minister, Rashad conveyed greetings from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to Dbeibeh and reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to strengthening cooperation and coordination between the two countries in various fields. Dbeibeh, in turn, sent his greetings and appreciation to President El-Sisi, praising the strong historical and fraternal relations between the two nations and their peoples.
The meeting explored avenues to expand joint cooperation to support development efforts and achieve mutual interests. Participants also discussed the latest political developments in Libya. Both sides stressed the importance of continued coordination and consultation to serve the interests of Libya and Egypt. They reaffirmed their support for Libya’s security, stability, unity, and sovereignty, as well as efforts to unify national institutions and uphold the peaceful political process.
The meeting was part of ongoing consultations and coordination between the two countries.
