Sirte – The Supreme Judicial Council held a meeting in Sirte on Sunday, attended by its president, Judge Miftah Al-Qawi, and council members. The president told the Libyan News Agency that the meeting is part of efforts to reactivate judicial work in the city.
During the meeting, the new Sirte Court of Appeals was inaugurated and will begin operations in the coming days. The council also discussed the swearing-in records of newly appointed judicial officials.
Members reviewed promotion files for judicial authorities that had been delayed and addressed complaints submitted by some of the members, taking appropriate legal action regarding them.
The council also discussed the distribution of vehicles to judicial staff, which is expected to take place soon. The meeting covered several organizational issues related to the council’s work and strategies for development, along with administrative and technical matters concerning the operation of the judiciary.
The council stressed the need to support judicial inspection and strengthen its role in monitoring performance and enforcing measures. It also emphasized the importance of completing work plans in the courts and upgrading the judiciary’s infrastructure across Libyan cities. The meeting concluded with a commitment to continue efforts to improve the justice system and deliver timely justice to citizens.
