The Tripoli-based prime minister, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, held talks today in Tripoli with one of British Defense Ministry’s top advisors Joey Martin Sampson.
The meeting took place after HMS Albion, a ship the Royal British Navy, docked in Tripoli on Wednesday, marking the first time British Royal Navy ship arrives in the Libyan capital since 8 years.
According to a statement from Dbeibeh’s media office, the meeting with Sampson took place in the presence of the U.K. Ambassador to Libya, Caroline Hurndall, the military attaché of the embassy Chris O’Flaherty and a technical team of the British Ministry of Defense.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the technical cooperation between the defense ministries of the two countries and the need to activate a series of programs in the field of training and the transfer of skills by the United Kingdom to its Libyan counterparts.
