The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity (GUN), Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, met with the German ambassador in Tripoli, Michael Ohnmacht, to discuss the United Nations efforts for the reconstruction of the city of Derna, partially destroyed following the passage of Storm Daniel on September 10.
According to a statement by Dbeibeh’s media office, the two discussed the Libyan political situation and the efforts of the UN Envoy to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, to achieve “fair and equitable” elections.
The German ambassador also informed Dbeibeh on how German companies can resume their activities in Libya, highlighting the need to “join national and international efforts to rebuild Derna and the municipalities affected by the floods”.
