Italian News Agency Nova said the Libyan outgoing Prime Minister, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, received a warning to hand over power to the designated Prime Minister, Fathi Bashagha, by May 26.
Nova reported that military battalions warned Dbeibeh, who instructed the armed formations to mobilize.
Libyan sources confirmed the existence of a security alert in the vicinity of the Prime Ministry at the al-Sikka road in Tripoli, according to the Italian news agency.
