Dbeibeh’s plane left Tobruk’s airport last night using car headlights to lighten runway

Dbeibeh in Tobruk to attend Parliament session for annual budget

The plane of Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, left Tobruk’s airport last night using the headlights of his delegates’ cars to lighten runway, the airport’s manager Saad Jaballah confirmed on Tuesday.

Jaballah told press reporters that the runway’s lights were out of order due to periodic power cuts. His team asked the premier’s delegation not to take off and to wait until the the runway’s lights are repaired.

“They refused and decided to take off using on car headlights, even though this violates the rules and regulations,” he added.

Jaballah also revealed that incident would be investigated.
