Greece is open to discussing the issue of the Turkey-Libya maritime borders deal with a newly elected Libyan government, Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias told reporters in Benghazi on Thursday.

Dendias explained that the reason Greece wants to the discuss the deal a Libyan government that “will emerge from the elections” so that this government “represents the real will of the Libyan people.”

“With this government, Greece will indeed start talks and I believe that we will reach a conclusion relatively quickly, because the matter is rather easy, rather clean,” he said.

The Greek top diplomat said the current Libyan Government of National Unity has “an obligation to fully cooperate to lead the country to quick elections.”

However, he added that he does not see current Libyan government doing that.
