Deputy chief of Presidential Council, Oil Minister in Tokyo for talks with Japanese officials

Deputy Chairman of Libya’s Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi concluded his visit to Tokyo, with the Minister of Oil and Gas in the Government of National Unity Mohamed Aoun, which focused on strengthening cooperation between the two countries and encouraging the return of Japanese economic activities and companies to Libya, according to a statement by the council.

The Presidential Council said on Saturday that Al-Lafi and Aoun met with President of the President of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Akihiko Tanaka, as well as Atsushi Sunami, the President of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation.

They reportedly discussed cooperation on economic development as well as providing technical and advisory support to Libya on national peace and reconciliation.
