Deputy General Commander Visits Sirte, Affirms: "The Page of Terrorism Has Been Turned, and the City is Regaining its Status as the Heart of Libya"

Sirte – As part of the ongoing “Journey of Loyalty” across various Libyan regions, the Deputy General Commander of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar, conducted a visit to the city of Sirte. Upon arrival, he was received by the city’s elders, dignitaries, and youth.

During the extensive meeting, Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar conveyed the greetings of the General Commander of the Armed Forces, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar. He expressed the General Command’s pride in the historic city of Sirte and its people, praising their “patience, faith, and steadfastness” in the face of the “scourges of war and terrorism.”

In his address, the Deputy General Commander affirmed that Sirte is “rising today to regain its status as a city of security and construction, and a field for reconstruction and development projects.” He emphasized that the city is reclaiming its role as “Libya’s beating heart and a meeting point for its people from the east, west, and south.”

Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar described the current achievements in Sirte as a “message of loyalty to the homeland,” adding: “What is being achieved today confirms that Libya can only be built by the hands of its own people, and that what was destroyed by war is being restored by sincere will, conscious vision, and dedicated work.”

In a message of reassurance, the Deputy General Commander stressed that “the page of terrorism has been turned thanks to the sacrifices of the righteous martyrs.” He affirmed that the Armed Forces stand firm and will not allow the return of chaos or any attempt to compromise Libya’s unity and stability.
