The General Commander of the Armed Forces, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, received a delegation of sheikhs, elders, and dignitaries from the tribes of Fezzan at the Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar Military City.

The meeting was attended by the Libyan Prime Minister, Mr. Osama Hammad, the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Khaled Haftar, and the Director-General of the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund, Mr. Belgassim Haftar.

During the meeting, the Fezzan delegation expressed their appreciation for the role of the Armed Forces in maintaining security and enhancing stability, reaffirming their continued support for it. The delegation also commended the General Commander’s efforts, his keenness to communicate with the tribes, and his support for national reconciliation initiatives.

For his part, Field Marshal Haftar praised the patriotic stances of the Fezzan tribes and their pivotal role, stressing that he looks forward to their effective contribution “within an organized national movement.”

The General Commander clarified that this movement aims to address the political crisis from its roots and draw a roadmap that “stems from the will of the people,” opening horizons for a prosperous future that meets the aspirations of all Libyans.
