The Public Prosecution has ordered the pretrial detention of the Head of Administrative and Financial Affairs at the Libyan-Sudanese Investment and Development Company pending investigation.
The Attorney General’s Office confirmed that the decision was made after examining evidence of the official’s deviation from the requirements of public interest while managing a contract to supply feed manufacturing equipment valued at $748,000.
The office clarified that the initial investigation revealed misconduct that resulted in damage to public funds, stemming from the payment of the contract’s price without receiving the contracted equipment.
The Attorney General’s Office noted that these measures are aimed at ensuring the accountability of officials and protecting public funds in accordance with applicable laws.
