Italian Foreign Minister, Luigi Di Maio, arrived in Tripoli on Monday, where he met with Mohammed al-Menfi, Chairman of the Presidential Council, to discuss several issues of mutual concern, including the upcoming general elections on December 24 and maintaining the ceasefire in the country.
The Italian chief diplomat is also scheduled to visit eastern Libya, where he’ll meet with Aguila Saleh, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, the General Commander of the Libyan National Army (LNA).
This is Di Maio’s fifth visit to Libya during this year.
