First Phase of the National Early Cancer Detection Program Launched from Benghazi

Benghazi – The first phase of the national early cancer detection program began Saturday at the Al-Sabri Polyclinic in Benghazi. With this launch, early screening services are now available as part of a nationwide effort to promote prevention and early diagnosis.

The program was initiated by the Ministry of Health on July 12. Its goal is to increase treatment and recovery rates by detecting tumors at earlier stages and encouraging citizens to take advantage of early screening.

Since online registration opened, the program has seen significant interest. More than 1,000 people have already signed up.

The Benghazi launch marks the start of a gradual expansion by the Ministry of Health to bring early detection services to cities and regions across the country. The aim is to make preventive health services accessible to as many citizens as possible.

The Al-Sabri Polyclinic has welcomed eligible citizens, providing screenings through a dedicated online system. Specialized medical teams supervise these procedures, ensuring that each case is managed and followed according to approved medical standards.

In its initial phase, the program targets early detection of breast, colon, and lung cancers. Medical and organizational measures are in place to improve early diagnosis and treatment outcomes, with the goal of increasing recovery rates and enhancing patients’ quality of life.

This initiative is part of broader efforts to develop the health sector, strengthen prevention and early detection programs, and raise the standard of medical services for citizens.
