Tripoli – Presidential Council Deputy Moussa Al-Koni announced late Tuesday night his rejection of political assassinations and the pursuit of demands through force and violence.
This statement came in a post published on his X platform account following the announcement by Saif al-Islam Gaddafi’s political team regarding his assassination in the city of Zintan.
Al-Koni stated in his post, “As we say no to political assassinations and no to pursuing demands through force and violence as a language or a means, we emphasize that what Libya needs today is to move forward toward dialogue. We believe that only constructive communication between all parties will lead us to the possible and awaited solution for the nation’s crisis.”
With this post, Al-Koni becomes the first official in the Libyan authorities to formally declare his rejection of political assassinations in the country following the announcement of Saif al-Islam Gaddafi’s assassination.
The political team of Saif al-Islam Gaddafi had announced late Tuesday his assassination in the city of Zintan, calling for the opening of an independent and transparent local and international investigation to uncover the circumstances of the incident and identify those involved.
