Foreign Minister Reviews Preparations for Launch of Third Cohort at Institute of Diplomatic Studies

Benghazi – Libyan Foreign Minister and Chairman of the Board of the Diplomatic Studies Institute, Abdulhadi Al-Huwaij, chaired a meeting at the institute’s headquarters in Benghazi to review preparations for the launch of the third batch of the diplomatic training program.

The meeting was attended by institute management, the committee responsible for processing applicant files, and the academic committee for the third cohort. Minister Al-Huwaij highlighted the institute’s important role in preparing and qualifying Libya’s diplomatic workforce as one of the key institutions supporting the development of modern Libyan diplomacy.

He emphasized the need to complete all necessary organizational and academic procedures. He also called for ensuring the institute’s readiness to begin studies on schedule, while maintaining high academic and administrative standards.

Attendees reviewed the progress of the applicant selection process, the readiness of the specialized committees, and arrangements for the start of classes. It was decided that a written exam for applicants who missed the previous test will be held on August 8, 2026. Oral exams for successful candidates are set for September 5, 2026.

The third batch of students will begin classes at the institute’s Benghazi campus on September 15, 2026. This will coincide with the launch of the first batch at the Sebha campus, as part of the ministry’s plan to expand diplomatic training programs across Libya.

Minister Al-Huwaij assigned the academic committee to prepare the final list of teaching staff for the third cohort at both Benghazi and Sebha campuses. He also instructed completion of the institute’s administrative structure to enhance performance and ensure workflow continuity.

Al-Huwaij affirmed that the Diplomatic Studies Institute is a key resource for preparing qualified diplomats able to represent Libya and defend its interests at regional and international forums.
