Sebha – An agreement was announced in the city of Sebha to form a specialized committee to coordinate national reconciliation efforts in the southern region, during a meeting held by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Dr. Ahmid Houma, with a number of sheikhs and notables from the south.
This came as part of the “Together for the South” initiative, which aims to achieve peaceful coexistence and enhance stability in the region.
The meeting stressed the importance of unifying the ranks of the various social components, including Arabs, Tuareg, and Tebu, and supporting cooperation with the General Command of the Armed Forces to establish security and stability.
The Deputy Prime Minister also directed the Cabinet Office to provide the necessary logistical support to enable the committee to perform its duties efficiently.
The committee aims to develop a comprehensive action plan to enhance national reconciliation paths and turn the page on social disputes in the south, contributing to building a secure and stable future for the region.
