Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar, Deputy Commander of the Libyan Armed Forces, met with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in Athens during an official visit to Greece.
The leaders discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and develop cooperation in security, military, and economic fields. They also exchanged views on a range of regional and international issues of mutual concern.
The talks included measures to combat illegal migration, as part of broader efforts to coordinate on security and stability in the region.
Lieutenant General Haftar delivered greetings from Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, Commander of the Libyan Armed Forces, to the Greek prime minister and the Greek people.
Prime Minister Mitsotakis expressed his deep appreciation for Field Marshal Haftar’s role in maintaining security and stability in Libya and its wider impact on regional security.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides stressed the importance of continued cooperation to support stability and strengthen the partnership between the two countries.
