The staff of the Cabinet Office of the Government of National Unity in Benghazi condemned on Sunday the kidnapping of the Chief of the Cabinet Office in the Eastern Region, Reda Afritis, by an unknown group in Tripoli last week.
In a public statement, the staff considered Afritis’ kidnapping to be a threat safety and human rights of all government employees.
They called on Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh to reveal the circumstances of the incident, and disclose the fate of Afritis as well as holding all culprits accountable.
The staff also called on the Interior Ministry and its affiliated agencies to exercise their duties and accelerate the process of identifying the whereabouts of Afritis.
