Benghazi – The Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, received a large delegation yesterday comprising sheikhs, elders, and notables from the tribes of the Eastern, Central, and Southeastern regions. The meeting was held at the Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar Military City, in the presence of the Head of the Libyan Government, Dr. Osama Hammad, and the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Khaled Haftar.
This meeting is part of the General Command’s commitment to maintaining continuous communication with all segments of Libyan society and affirms the pivotal role of the tribes in supporting the country’s path to stability and peace.
During the meeting, the tribal sheikhs, elders, and notables reaffirmed their full and continuous support for the Armed Forces in its efforts to protect the homeland and preserve its sovereignty. The delegation praised the General Commander’s constant engagement with Libyan tribes and expressed deep appreciation for the role the Armed Forces plays in establishing security and stability across Libya.
For his part, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar welcomed the delegation and praised the historic and prominent role played by Libyan tribes, considering them a safeguard for the social fabric. The General Commander particularly commended the tribes’ contributions to sponsoring and supporting comprehensive national reconciliation efforts, stressing that the General Command strongly supports all initiatives aimed at unifying the nation and strengthening national unity for the benefit of Libya and its people.
