The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Field Marshal Staff “Khalifa Haftar,” received in his office at the General Command Headquarters in Benghazi, the Commander of the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM), Lieutenant General “Dagvin Anderson,” and the Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Libya, Mr. “Jeremy Berndt,” along with the accompanying delegation. The meeting took place in the presence of the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar, and the Chief of General Staff, General Khalid Haftar.
The Commander-in-Chief welcomed the visiting delegation, praising the distinguished partnership relations between Libya and the United States of America across various fields.
For his part, Lieutenant General Anderson affirmed the depth of relations between the two sides and the General Command’s key role in enhancing security and stability in Libya, noting its positive impact on the region in general.
During the meeting, the importance of strengthening bilateral ties and joint security and military coordination was discussed, particularly in the fields of combating terrorism and extremism, human trafficking networks, and illegal migration. The two sides also exchanged views on developing joint training programs to raise the capabilities of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces. Furthermore, the development of cooperation in economic, commercial, and other fields was discussed to serve the common interests of both countries.
