Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will travel to Egypt on Saturday for discussions with President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, with the situation in Libya expected to feature prominently in the talks, according to Turkish diplomatic sources.
The visit will address both bilateral relations and regional developments, with particular emphasis on the challenges in North and East Africa. Sources said Libya, alongside Sudan, Somalia, and the broader Sahel region, will be a key focus of the Cairo meetings.
Ankara and Cairo are also expected to exchange views on potential joint initiatives aimed at promoting stability and strengthening cooperation in Libya, in addition to exploring ways to enhance multi-dimensional ties between the two countries.
