Head of the Development Authority Announces New Educational and Development Projects in Sirte

Sirte – Mahmoud Al-Fergani, director general of the National Development Agency, announced a package of new educational and development projects in Sirte. The projects are part of the agency’s plans to support infrastructure and improve services in the central region.

In a post on his official Facebook page, Al-Fergani said that the most prominent project is the opening of the Grand Scientific Halls Complex in Sirte on June 6, 2026. He described it as a new scientific landmark that will support the educational process and provide a modern academic environment.

He emphasized that the project is an important step in development and construction. He stressed that investing in education and knowledge is a fundamental pillar of building society and achieving sustainable development.

Al-Fergani also noted that work continues on the commercial market project in Sirte. He said the project is proceeding on schedule and will be an economic and cultural addition to the city.

He added that the Sirte Free Zone serves as a strategic link between sea ports and promising African markets. According to Al-Fergani, this will strengthen Sirte’s position as an investment and logistics center supporting trade, industry, and services.
