The Libyan Health Ministry declared on Saturday a national emergency across the country over wide spread of Coronavirus infections.
This came following a meeting between the ministry and the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) to review the epidemiological situation in Libya.
The ministry also announced that it will suspend the pre-registration system for vaccinations and distribute vaccines to all health centers in the country’s municipalities.
Isolation centers would be established inside every hospital in the country to increase clinical capacity, the ministry said.
The Health Ministry also called for starting vaccination of the second dose of AstraZeneca vaccine as soon as it arrives. It also called for increasing the daily capacity of laboratories to conduct tests.
