Amman – A delegation from the Libyan Ministry of Health, led by Acting Minister Dr. Abdulsalam Aqila, visited Jordan to explore opportunities for cooperation and exchange of expertise in a range of health fields. The visit followed directives from Deputy Commander-in-Chief Gen. Saddam Haftar.
The delegation met with several Jordanian health organizations. At the Jordan Food and Drug Administration, they learned about pharmaceutical and food oversight systems, drug and medical supply registration, inspection procedures, and product quality control.
The delegation also met with the Health Care Accreditation Council to discuss Jordan’s experience in developing quality standards, accreditation, performance assessment, and hospital and laboratory accreditation programs.
The group visited the Eastern Mediterranean Public Health Network, where discussions focused on epidemic surveillance, field epidemiology, and responding to outbreaks and health crises. They toured several health facilities, including Prince Hamzah Hospital, to observe medical training and education programs.
In the area of digital transformation, the delegation learned about the Jordan Digital Health Center’s experience in health data management and the use of digital systems to support operations and boost service efficiency.
The visit is part of the Libyan Health Ministry’s efforts to advance the health sector. The ministry aims to expand cooperation with specialized institutions and benefit from advanced expertise to improve institutional performance and staff capacity in line with the 2030 vision set by Libya’s leadership.
