In a meeting that took place in his office in Qobba on Tuesday, Speaker of the House of Representatives Aguila Saleh engaged in discussions with Member of the German Parliament Tobias Bacherle and German Ambassador to Libya Michael Ohnmacht.
The talks centered on exploring the latest developments in Libya’s political landscape and exploring potential avenues to address the ongoing crisis through the organization of elections, according to a statement released by the House of Representatives following the meeting.
Saleh emphasized the importance of holding presidential and parliamentary elections as a means of resolving the current challenges facing Libya. He stressed the crucial role that a unified government, tasked with overseeing the electoral process post-elections, could play in promoting stability and democratic governance across the country.
Sales, says the statement, also highlighted the necessity of establishing a cohesive government dedicated to implementing constitutional foundations and electoral regulations essential for conducting presidential elections and electing the National Assembly.
